The Women's Auxiliary of Diocese of Keewatin held their annual meet- ing on Tuesday to Thursday of last. week in St Alban's pro-Cathedral, Kenora. The opening service was well attended, the Ven. Archdeacon Maltby being the preacher. the ad- dress was highly inspirational to all present. ; On Wednesday morning a service of Holy Communion was celebrated, at which the Rev. Canon Lofthouse and Rev. Mr Diamond officiated. Splendid Reports were received from the branches at Keewatin, Dry- den, Sioux 'Lookout, Eagle River, Rainy River, Fort Francis, Lac du Bonnet and Kenora. The officers also presented accounts of the year's labors. On Wednesday afternoon the Rev. Canon Lofthouse addressed the ses- sion on the mission work in our own diocese. He mentioned the effect of the high cost of living on mission en- deavour, also the shortage of workers and funds. However, two missionaries have opened stations recently in the northern part of the diocese, while another is to be sent out in the near future. He paid a special tribute to those missionaries of the past who were willing to "spend and be spent" in Christ's service. Mrs J. J. Roy, who for three conse-. cutive years has been a much appre~ ciated contributor to the programme, gave this year a paper on Mohamme- danism, in which she pointed out the serious menace this religion is to civilization. It is spreading rapidly in Africa and the far east, because each Moslem is an obligatory missions ary for his own belief.
