In no case should a fire be built against a tree, an old log or in a dry bog, but whenever possible, on a rocky shore or on a gravel or sand base. A small fire always cooks better than a large one, and is much casier to extinguish. When rough with the cooking fire, 2 ew quarts of water or a shovel or two of earth will easily extin- guish it. No glowing coals or smoking embers should be left under any circumstances. If those who enjoy and profit by the forest areas of Ontario, par ticularly the campers and fisher- men, would take such simple pre- { cautions, they would preserve this year hundreds of the finest and most beautiful camping spots in the Arce, and at ihe sane time remove one of the main sources of forest fires which are doing such enormous damage to the main source of employment in, this province. : 0SYER General Merchant, 1.3.C |/E - OZ DRIFT, Ont, Dry Cioods Groceries : Boots and Shoes Hardware and Farm Produce Frost & Wood and " Cockshutt Imp! ~~ ot a great applause and cheering.® The intricate points of the game will be in the capable hands of Milo Upton, trainer; Jim Offer and Frank XKerney, assistant coach .
