With little exception the necssary men to fill the several offices have been found by mutual consent, and without the expense and agitation that an election always involves. : The very satisfactory review of Municipal affairs in the Town of Dryden, and the absence of any burning desire for alteration in a general way, very naturally re- sulted in the return of Alfred Pits for a fourth consecutive term .as Mayor, his seventh year in that important office since the incor- poration of the Town. For once in his life the Mayor was taken by surprise and was at a loss to express his feelings. But whatever of criticism may be directed on details of his administration, it is generally ac- cepted that Mayor Pitt from his asso- ciation and intimate dontact with the life of the town, interprets the senti- ments of the community with com- Imendable success.
