A Tussle of Giants One of the greatest contests ever staged for "Bowling" supremacy, in North-western Ontario was witnessed the latter part of last week at Reid's Billard Parlour, when Alfred Pitt, the King Pin of the Pitt Bowling Staff, crossed swords with Bill Richardson. Those who had the privilege of wit- nessing this combat between two hind- most exponents of the art of trundiing, will long remember the nerve-racking experience, as each of these gladiators delivered his. mighty ball, shattering the pins and scattering the deadwood in all directions, while the score con. tinued a tie in each and every frame. The first game resulted in a tie at figures deleted by censor. The second gameé a- tie. While the third and final game to decide the contest went to the .§ Mayor by a considerable margin, who succeeded in some accountable manner, in keeping his ball on the alley, while ' Richardson's ball in the majority of cases took to the ditch, and it is said by those who "know" that Bill forgot 3 he was Bowling, due to the excitement and imagined that he was throwing out culls. It is understood that a return match between the two gentlemen in question, will be staged in the near future and it is suggested that the date be made thoroughly known, admission charged, and preceeds handed to the Hospital " Board, which conservatively estimated should be sufficient to fully cover expense of the proposed Nurses Home.
