DOME FORFEITS OPTION ON RED LAKE CLAIMS TORONTO, Aug. 18.--The Toronto Star says on its editorial page: "The Northern Miner which will appear to- morrow will have an official announce- ment to the effect that Dome is drop- ping its option on Howey, Red Lake, and the Howey Red Lake prospectors' properties in the eRd Lake mining area."--Port Arthur News-Chronicle. marco, SALY. OF TIMBER i ;TENDERS WILL BE RECEIVED by the undersigned up to and including Thursday, the 2nd of September, 1926, The Tigers and Wabigoon All-Stars met on Tuesday night, and after a fighting, and slugging seven inning game, they called it a day when the score stood 5-5. The Lake View boys fought all the way through, and were well satisfied with the results. The Tigers played a wonderful game despite the fact that all their "Stars" were unable to report owing to either duty or otherwise. The Cubs met Wabigoon on their home grounds last Thursday night and defeated them: 12--9. This makes them winners of the second series with 7 wins and 1 loss out of 8 games play- ed. The Cubs had a night of it all through. Only for the first innings when they got 5 runs through errors on the part of the Lakeview boys it might have been a different story. Dickson, Payne and Evans saved the day at bat. Clempson and Evans were the best on the infield while Dickson, Wright and Payne didn't have much to do in the outfield. Weaver had a per- with his control at the last of the game, : : Dusty and Higgins didn't show up very good and Foote catching did not seem to be in usual style and let Buck down in the pinches. Miller pitched a star game for Wabi- goon and got 9 strike-outs to his credit Gummerson on 1st and Hanson catch- ing were by far the best that Wabi- goon had in the field and at bat. The Wabigooners gave the local boys the hardest game they have had this year and what will happen when they get in shape next year is hard to tell. Agood crowd of fans from Dry- den and Wabigoon witnessed the game. Umpires--Harrison, Whiting. The Elks met the giants at Dryden cn Saturday night and defeated them 6-->5.
