All the Rink Skates have been yverhauled, and put in first class shape, ready for hire for the sum of 15¢. a pair, so don't let not hav- ing any, keep you away. Another "SPECIAL" is promis- ed later om in the season, in the 'form of a sports day, when prizes ill be given for speed skating, ping, and relay racing, new ~ames on the Ice, and wind up with a real Carnival Dance. CANADA } THE members of Golden Star Lodge A.F. & A.M, held a most delightful social evening in the the undersigned untill January 23%, ~ Distribution of Low Prizes, 'ince on Iriday evening, at eight school-room and also took the form of a Church Social. A good number of par- ents & friends were present. The children gave a short program, uwder the direction of Miss Elsie Rowe and Mrs Jack Wright kind- ly giving a solo, with Miss Rowe as accompanist. At the request of Rev. E. Jacques, Archie Wright acted 2s Chairman during the. entertain- ment, At the close of which Mr Jacques proposed a vote of thanks to Miss Rowe for her kindness in getting up the programme and to Mrs Jack Wright for singing. The Annual Congregational Meeting then followed for the purpose of receiving the reports for the past year. Rev Jacques presided. 4 On the election of officers for 1928, Bert Rhind was re-appointed Rector's Warden and after several ominations for People's Warden Eric Rhind was elected by accla- mation. The following were chosen as Vestrymen® . Messrs L. Little, C. W Rhixd, W J Armstrong, Arthur Wright, Frome Johnson, Harold Wright. The Auditor elected was Mrs C. W Rhind. G Deacon J.P., was asked to act as Vestry Clerk, which he consented to do. Archie Wright was nominated as deleg- ate to Synod, with E Rhind as { substitute. Mr L. Little very kindly offered to supply the fuel for heating the Chucrh, which offer was grate- fully accepted. Archie Wright then proposed a vote of thanks to Mr Jacques for his work amongst them during the past i year which he suitably acknowl- edged. A discussion followed as to the best way to augment the Church funds of which there was a difficulty and one of the ladies offered to take round a subscrip- tion list (which had met with ready response). The distribution of prizes then took place, after which a dainty Innch was -served by the ladies, and the meeting closed with the benediction. Rov. E. Jacques spent Saturday 'cernoon in Dryden. During his t in Wabigoon he was the guest of Mr and Mrs Archie Wright. Miss Beth Robinson has return- ed to Dryden to resume her studies at High School. K. Johnson is convalecing at his home here, after his serious illness, The Post Office has now chang- ed hands and the business is be- ing carried on next door in charge. of Archie Wright. «" Annual Congregational Meeting: The Annual Congregational Meeting of the Oxdrift United Church was held January 10th, in the Community Hall. A fair attendance was out and a good report was given from cach of the organizations in con- nection with the church work. We are looking forward to a still bet- ter year for 1298.
