Robt and Mrs Wilson returne Reserve this Date their visit to the old by the trip, and h 3 A Message from Overseas Dizp d to Dryden last Monday from country. They are greatly benefitted in health ave acquired the clear, fresh complexions that the British climate gives, They are delighted to be back in Dryden. Mr Wilson will conduct services on Sunday in Eagle River in the morning, and in St. Luke's, Dryden, in the evening, when it is hoped he will give an account of what he has seen and heard that will prove interesting. = Mr Wilson brings back an atmosphere of hope and buoyancy. To those of us who have heard of little but unrest and unsettled conditions in the Motherland, his message is comforting and re-| freshing. "Have no fear for Great Britain," he says. "She will pull herself out of the ruck of war and recover herself more quickly than any other country concerned. The whole country is a hive of in- dustry. Work is abundant: wages are good. Never have T seen the people so well-dressed and prosperous- looking. The old time shiftless looking laborer, with the red handkerchief round his neck, is no longer in evidence. To-day we see well-built, prosperous looking men, strong in their self-respect, and showing evidence in their bearing of their military training. There is no doubt in these people as to who won the war. There was long a dread of the possi- bility of war with Germany; but they. never were afraid of the Germans. When war finally broke, they unflinchingly faced their 'task--which was to finish what Germany began. And the terrible struggle, while it took heavy toll of the nation, has filled it with renewed courage. : : While the war was an unm to say that it did not have its £00 One PONY MARE, One Sucking Colt, One 1 year old" Colt (mare) and 7-year old Mare. Rather, those who have ships to build--and they KE are many---are searching for shipyards to build them. And when: B you consider that those ships cdn earn their price in about eighteen months, with the prospect of many eighteen-month periods ahead of; i 'them, you will easily believe that there is little fear of the nation's" g future. And it is the same all over. When the great munition' fi . plants are equipped with the necessary machinery for peace produc- tion, Britain will again step to the front as a producing nation. The Government has been paying out-of-work money to men and women. - That has all been stopped since the 15th November, except in the case of returned disabled soldiers, for whom the allowance will be continued while there is need. That will give you an idea of conditions. No one need want employment who is willing to work os 5 : I have heard it suggested that the prosperity is superficial--a reflex of the war. I tell you, the stories you hear of trouble are the superficial ones. The sound character of the British people remains, and that is the true foundation for its welfare. . Don't worry about the old country!" @ : Mr Wilson went on control liquor. He says the bettered conditions are undoubtedly to be credited with some of the general improvement, and admits that brighter prospects, by encouraging self-respect, tend to lessen the drink evil. He travelled widely over the kingdom, and was cheered and enthuzed by what he saw everywhere. The great army has been demobilized at the rate industry could absorb the men, and demobilization will be practically completed by December first, except for those who have re-enlisted in the regular army and the army of occupation. : : : Ty SI LUKE'S CHURCH, DRYDEN Sunday Services-- 2.30 p.m. Sunday School 7 p.m.-- Evening prayer and sermon "Wm.
