He had been bathing near the sum- mer home of A. R. Hutchison, for whom he worked. Apparently he slipped off a submerged rock into deep water. His cries attracting the attention of Mr Chas. Ware and Chas. Coombe, the two succeeded in finding the body but life had already fled. 'The funeral service was held Friday afternoon in the Union Church at Dryden. The sympathy of the whole congregation, deeply stirred by the sad event, was expressed by the spon- taneous bringing of flowers and wreaths. A number of young men acted as voluntary pall-bearers:-- Ernie Dickson, Elmer Latimer, Robt. Robertson, Herman Saunders, Robt. Carr, Ralph Hudson, with A. R. Hut- chison following the coffin to the ? Church, shortly after two o'clock. As the congregation stood reverently and the organ breathed out its restrained ¥ | notes, the casket was placed in front of the Church. The Rev. J. M. Beaton conducted the service with sympathe- tic understanding of the tragic feat- ures of the accident. At the end of the service Mr Hutchison briefly thanked the people of Dryden for the iready sympathy towards an orphar boy shown by the manner in 'whick they united to give him fitting burial. From the Church the remains were taken to Dryden Cemetery and com: mitted to the grave. The boy leave: behind a younger sister at school in Saskatchewan and an uncle, Mr P. M Polcon, of Eagle River.
