N. DECKERT F. M. OFFER, Auditors A. R. futchison takes over Tourist CONSIDERABLE elation is felt in Kenora since the announcement {was made that A. R. Hutchison fof Dryden, had leased their big hotel, the "Tourist". Dryden, too 'cannot be denied a sense of pride |. in that one of its oldest and best known citizen will fill such a prominent position in the public {life of our neighbour, Kenora. No "other event, ard probably no other individual would be better calcu- tlated to inspire friendly regard between two communities. Mr Hutchison is as well-known (in Kenora as in his home town. He was the guest of Mayor Toole at the Rotary luncheon in Kenora ,on Tuesday, and the announce- iment of the leasing of the Tourist to him very evidently met with a "hearty reception from the business 'men of the latter town. Andy has many years exper- fence as a hotel keeper in Dryden, where he has been a resident ior t nearly thirty years. No man in 'the district is more popuiar or better known, and his attractive zird genial personality could find i no better setting than in the cap- acity of host to public. Edna Reid to sing here next month xB XS MANY will recall the last appear- ance in Dryden of Miss Edna Reid, one of Toronto's foremost singers. Miss Reid belongs to a class of artistes that seldom are heard in the smaller centres. . That we in Dryden are favoured with: this opportunity is due to the fact that Miss Reid is a native of our town, and many here easily remember this Toronto star as a little girl of their own town just a few years ago. Miss Tid intends making a trip west to visit her father towards the end of the month, and will stop over in Dryden to see her old friends, and will greatly enjoy singing to them. No one better understands the kind of song they enjoy, or is better able to sing to them in the way they like.. Her father, A. Reid, at one time ran the store now occupied by D. W. Scott, and Miss Reid will exper- ience a special delight in enter- taining the people of the old town where she spent her girlhood. Miss Reid possesses a voice of the travelling wonderful range and quality. Dear Campbell : I am enclosing copy of a letter that I have received from = the Minister of Lands and Forests and which I know will be of great interest to the people of Dryden and Sioux Lookout, as well as the settlers in both districts.
