Vankougne ; Hill, Wright, | ~ North End in THOSE who objected to the waterworks Bylaw because it did not extend north of the track, will be satisfied now that it is shown to be simply an oversight which has already been put right. Among other parties who had: to be consulted in the. matter, the Provincial Board of Health, Tor- onto, had to accept the plans. And until they could be commu- nicated with, and their approval given, the addition to the Bylaw could not be made. The deben- tures were arranged to include this extension, and rather than delay the work, Council decided to publish the Bylaw: as it stood, subject to later alteration. - - In a letter to Mr J. E. Gibson; Town Clerk, the Board of Health have approved of the correction, as follows --- TORONTO, Sept 24, 1923 | «DEAR SIR---I have the honour to ~ lacknowledge your letter of the 20th instant, and note that through an oversight certain information was omitted from your application for the installation of a waterworks system for the Town of Dryden sent in to this office for approval a short time ago. We have, therefore, added to your application the following: "Including a line to cross the C.P.R.'to Govern- ment Street." which we trust meets with your approval. JOHN W. S. McCULLOUGH Chief Officer of Health Next week we will publish an article completely covering the situation, written by Mayor Pitt at the request of the Town Coun- cil. On the 17th of October, just before the vote is taken, a public meeting will be called to consider the Bylaw, when the negotiations that led to the adoption of the scheme by Council, and the ad- vantages of the water system, will be explained in full to the ratepayers. ' EY THE UNION CHURCH, DRYDEN The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be dispensed at the morning ser- vice, 11 o'clock. The Sunday Schoo! now meets the afternoon at 2:30.
