THE DRYDEN OBSERVER Lovers of Fine There are many such in Dryden: people who turn up the nose at Japanese and Checko - Slovak imitations, who love the English artistry and old renowned pat- terns. : The English pottery people are still supreme in their line, much live despite world competition. The Rummage Sale organized by the Hospital Committee of the Women's Institute was well worth the trouble of vetting out the generous assortment of uch articles as had lost something of ttraction for their owners. And that the goods were still of considerable value to somebody was proved by the amount realized, which was well ovex the $200 mark. There was a good erowd present, and under the shrewd manipulation of M: J. V. Johnston, the auctioneer for the occasion, the bidding was quick and lively. The delicious lunch served under the direction of Mrs Edye-de-Hurst and £ Mrs J. S. Wilson, was worthy of the : cause, and indeed the whole day's effort gave the comforting assurance that the Dryden Hospital, in whose behalf the : sale was arranged, has the unswerving loyalty of the ladies behind it. The Committee wish to thank those who donated so generously, and those who patronized the sale to such good purpose. SEVERAL USED FORD CARS AND TRUCKS, in good running order. Low Birthday Party A Birthday Party and Dance was held at the heme of Mrs C. S. Smith, in honour of her Daughter, Violet, be- ing the occasion of her sixteenth birth- day.
