There is an estimated net loss in revenue for the present year of $4,065 ,000, of which the largest amount is in liquor profits which will yield less by $3,750,000. All of the cost of direct relief totalling $7,200,000 will be added to capi- tal account in 1933 as well as four-fifths of the amount spent in relief in 1932. The hoard and settlers camps in Northern Ontario are charged to capital account in the current year at a cost of $2,336,000. One of the bright: spots in his speech was that there would be no new tax- ation except for 10% sur-tax on succession duties which, it is es- timated, will increase the revenue by $2,363,000. The estimated cost of exchange on U.S. fund is $1,200,000 which would be an increase of $1,130,000 over that paid two years ago. In Mother's Allowances there has heen paid out $2,376,998 of which mumici- palities contributed $1,084,742. These benefits were paid to 5,623 mothers and 16,908 child- ren in 1930, while in 1932 this had increased to $2,689,727 of which $1,234, 624 was contribut- ed by municipalities and those benefitting were 6,228 mothers and 18,644 children. The total contribution of the Provinee and municipalities for health was $8,- 000,000. Mental Hospitals cost $3,000,000 and assistance was given to Sanitoriums, etc., to the amount of $2,000,000 of which $885,000 was paid by munici- palitiés and they also contribut- ed $2,000,000 to hospitals and $311,000 towards home for In- curables. Mr. F. W. Elliott adjourned the debate and will be heard on Tuesday. On Friday, Mr. Henry intro- duced Bill No. 112 to amend the Succession Duty Act which pro- vides for the increased taxation.
