Makes and burns its own gas from regular untreated motor gasoline. Portable, you can carry and use it in any room in the house. Beautifully de- signed and finished in bright nickel. The tremendous popularity of the Model 242 Coleman Lantern has made it possible to reduce the retail price of this article from $8.45 to $7.95 This is the single mantle type of lantern that is proving so popular with sportsmen and tourists as well as dairymen and farmers. The Cole- man Lantern is the handiest of all outdoor lights. Scratch a match and it's ready instantly. In rain, snow or wind it produces plenty of steady- shining brilliance for any job, any night. Both the Sunshine Lamp and the Model 242 Lantern have recently been granted certificates of approval show- ing that they have been "tested and approved by the IHome Service Bureau conducted by the Canadian Home Journal." This approval is granted only after exhaustive testis under actual home conditions and is a mark of distinction which should mean a lot to housewives. Durance Bros. & Co. and Jack & Co. are featuring these and other Coleman products and will gladly show and demonstrate them. JUST THINK OF IT! At an Ontario Government lunch- eon, given by the Prime Minister on one occasion, the butter was SO delicious that guests enquired from the caterer where he got it. It turn- ed out to be New Zealand butter. He explained that it was always difficult to get good Canadian butter. Nova Scotia is noted for its apples, but recently when a group of leading citizens gave a delightful luncheon at Halifax for important visitors, the table was decorated with Oregon, U.S.A, not Nova Scotian apples. Canada has ten Ministers of Agri- culture and numerous colleges and schools. It was a Canadian graduate who taught New Zealand how to make and market butter. The U. S. National Fertilizer Asso- ciation: interviewed 48,000 farmers in 35 States who told them that the chief source of helpful practical in- formation came not from Government bulletins and publications but from farm, business and technical news- papers and magazines. In Canada, editors of these Dpapers compiained that the then Deputy Minister of Agriculture refused to co-operate with them--on one occasion refused even to see a committee of editors. --Financial Post, Sept. 9.
