Age 81; born to Joseph and Lillian (nee Sedlacek) Brabec and raised in the Czech neighborhood at 27th and Sawyer in Chicago; attended Harrison H.S.; worked on the Burlington Railroad as a fireman; served in U.S. Coast Guard; worked 25 years for Northwestern U. and 29 years at American Academy of Pediatrics; member of Chief Engineers Association of Chicago, Skokie Valley VFW Post #3854 and Lions Club of McHenry; Commodore of Shriner's Medinah Mariners, earned 50-year pin as Master Mason at Evanston Masonic Temple; preceded in death by first wife, June in 1982 and sister, Helen (Frank Kotek/Phil Spagnola) in 2000
