Age 83; born in Baxter Springs, Kansas, moved to Rosiclare, Illinois while in high school; attended U. of Kansas; entered the U.S. Army Infantry and Corps of Engineers in 1943 during WWII, serving in Europe and the Philippines; earned bachelor's degree in journalism from U. of Kansas in 1947; career in advertising as a television and radio writer at Smith, Taylor & Jenkins Advertising in Pittsburgh, Tatham-Laird & Kudner in Chicago from mid 50s to early 70s composing the Mr. Clean jingle in 1958, became a free-lance composer and writer publishing a movie trivia book (What a Bunch of Characters( in 1984; active member in the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, American Federation of Television and Radio Arts, American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, and Chicago Federation of Musicians; preceded in death by his brother, Bill - Date of Publication
