Age 73; resident of Park Ridge IL, formerly of Evanston; graduate of Evanston H.S.; attended Northwestern U., earned all-American honors as fullback and dropkicker; served in U.S. Navy during WWI, member of Great Lakes Navy team that went to Rose Bowl January 1919; pro football player with Decatur Staleys, with Chicago Cardinals from 1920-25, and Bears from 1925 through remainder of his career; coached Hilltoppers through 1941 at Marquette U.; head coach of Bruins from 1956-57; Bears' director of research from 1963 until his death; member of Pro Football's Hall of Fame - Date of Publication
