Age 96; the 11th of 14 children originally from Rochester, New York; a Society of the Divine Work missionary for 74 years; studied theology in Austria and was a seminary teacher, dean and publisher in the U.S.; served as chaplain with the U.S. Army Rainbow Division during WWII; worked for the Society in Ghana; founder and director of St. Martin's School for Catechists and the Retreat House in Sunsun, director of the Catholic Press Bureau in Accra and co-organizer of the First National Eucharistic Congress at Kumasi, managed the news service at the Society's international headquarters in Rome; after retiring was chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5045 in Bordentown, New Jersey
