Age 88; resident of The Abington in Glenview IL; passed away after 5-year struggle with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia; lifelong resident of Chicago, graduated from Amundsen H.S.; served in U.S. Army Air Force during WWII; Bachelor's/Master's degrees from DePaul U.; began 34-year career with Chicago Public Schools in 1952, taught at elementary/high school levels, became principal of Avondale Elementary School in 1965, Stewart Elementary School in 1968, Stockton Elementary/Upper Grade Center & Child Parent Center in 1969, and Carl Schurz H.S. in 1978, retired in 1986; traveled extensively until 2009 after knee replacement surgery; preceded in death by two children, Kevin and Linda, and two brothers, Charles and James - Date of Publication
