Age 92; resident of Winnetka IL; born in Warren MN, one of nine children, to Rev. Martin and Emma (nee Schmidt) Hauser; with help/encouragement of Uncle Emil Hauser, graduated from Northwestern U. in 1941, received medical degree from Northwestern School of Medicine; served four years as medical officer in U.S. Navy aboard U.S.S. Amsterdam in Pacific theater during WWII; completed internship at Northwestern, residency at Johns Hopkins U. in orthopedic surgery; on staff at Evanston Hospital until retirement in 1988; introduced to wife by cousin, Joan Hauser Gately, married on September 22, 1956
