Age 73; born in Fort Monroe, VA to Major General Hobart and Myrtle Hewett; degree in foreign service and master's in political science from Georgetown U. in Washington, DC; served in U.S. Army in Japan after WWII and rose to rank of captain in Army Reserves; worked 11 years for National Security Agency and for Technical Operations in Georgetown before moving to Wilmette in 1963, worked for Caywood-Schiller, a division of A.T. Kearney; master's degree in divinity at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, ordained an Episcopal priest in 1980; employee assistance counselor at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Martha Washington Hospital in Chicago; wrote two books on chemical dependency, taught at National Louis U. and Oakton Comunity College; president of The Cathedral Shelter; served at Lake Forest's Church of the Holy Spirit, Wilmette's St. Augustine's, Evanston's St. Alban's and Glenview's St. David's; preceded in death by his brother, Everett
