Age 91; born in Cleveland OH to Frederick and Helen (nee Black) Rex; at age two, father died and mother later married James Horner who adopted Alan; grew up in Kirtland OH; degree in mechanical engineering from Fenn College in Cleveland; served in 2nd Division Marine Corps in south Pacific (1943-46) in Guam and Okinawa, Japan; recalled as Captain in 1951 during Korean War, served 17 months; 1946, worked for Cleveland Tramrail Co. in Wickliffe OH; 1954 established Chicago Industrial Company in Glenview IL and represented Cleveland Tramrail for 40 years; married an Army nurse met in Japan in 1946; moved to Colorado Springs CO in 1972 and to Ft. Collins in 2008; Rotarian in Illinois and Colorado for 40+ years with perfect attendance; spent 20 winters in Gold Canyon AZ
