Age 97; son of Greek immigrants, lost his sister, brother and father to influenza in 1918; grew up in Montgomery, WV; degree in Philosophy from Harvard in 1938, graduate work at Oxford; married in 1938; first job as a reporter for NY Times, returned to Chicago and worked for an advertising agency; commissioned officer in U.S. Navy during WWII, served with UNRRA in Egypt and Greece; wrote articles for Greek publications and books on (Peking Man( and his sister titled, (Miss Fourth of July, Goodbye( which became a Disney TV movie; preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice - Date of Publication
