Age 89; born in Highland Park, the eldest of eight and moved to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin when she was seven; began working after eighth grade as a live-in housekeeper; returned to Highland Park and married on June 3, 1933; 69-year resident of Northbrook; with her husband owned and operated a Lake Forest restaurant during WWII, ten years later worked out of her home cleaning laundry for the wealthy; member of the North Northfield United Methodist Church in Northbrook; lived in a house built by her father-in-law, George Landwehr, an early settler of Northbrook (Shermerville); preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in 1989, and two brothers, Lewis (Ethel) and John (Leona) Borchardt
