Age 99; born in Bowbells, ND to Mary Davis and Herbert Leander Lyon and raised in Glenwood, IA and Minneapolis, MN prior to attending Hollywood H.S. and UCLA, member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity; as a young man played Timpani with Glendale Symphony and marimba in a Mariachi band in Los Angeles; graduated from Stanford U. in 1932 and attended U. of Michigan Law School, returned to LA in 1933; worked 11 years for Warner Brothers in the casting office; during WWII worked as a civilian to the Office of Strategic Services in Washington, DC developing films for the war effort; worked for RKO in New York City; on documentaries for the Princeton Film Center in Princeton, NJ; pioneer in television, worked in advertising for Morse International in NYC and network television programs; moved to Chicago in 1959 to work as vice president/creative director at John Colburn Studios - Date of Publication
