Age 80; resident of Glenview IL; born in Racine WI to Greek parents, James and Mary Vakos; graduated from Washington Park H.S. in 1938 and St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in 1941, became registered nurse; U.S. Army nurse during WWII for 2+ years, obstetrics nurse and administrative assistant at St. Lukes; 1957 began working in St. Louis County at St. Joseph's Hospital and school nurse with Lindbergh School District; active in Cub Scouts, Brownies, 4-H, Sunday School teacher, Social Health Association volunteer; 1971 returned to Racine, worked for Racine County Health Department, retired in 1985; married in 1986 and moved to Glenview; past president of Profits and Pitfalls Investment Club; preceded in death by her husband, James and son, Peter Kissel
