Age 88; born in Jefferson, OH to Charles Colfax Babcock and Clare Mason Babcock; in 1927 adopted by his half-sister Helen and her husband John Nevins; attended New Trier H.S. and 1942 graduate of Amherst College; trained at the U.S. Navy's V-7 midshipman's school at Columbia in NYC and spent WWII aboard the destroyer USS Meade in the Pacific; married on April 17, 1948 and moved to Northbrook, returned to Winnetka to raise their family; 45-year career with First National Bank of Chicago (now JPMorgan Chase Bank), retired in 1980 as vice president; lifelong tennis player, forced to retire due to the effects of Parkinson's Disease; preceded in death by his wife, Nancy and his brother, Robert G.
