Age 89; resident of Pensacola FL; born in Omaha NE to Arthur and Hazel Swan Parsons; 1941 graduate of Edgewater H.S. in Colorado; 28-year career as Naval Aviator; WWII earned gold wings at Naval Aviation Cadet Program NAS Denver, served on USS Enterprise at Pearl Harbor HI; after war enrolled in U. of Colorado School of Engineering/joined Naval Air Reserve Program at NAS Denver; Korean Conflict recalled to active duty, sent to NAS San Diego CA; 1955 assigned to NAS Pensacola, Whiting Field and Cory Field, later served in NAS Seattle, NAS Glenview IL and NAS Olathe KS; retired to Pensacola, employed by John A. Merritt Steamship Agency as Cargo Coordinator; volunteered at National Museum of Naval Aviation, 30-year member of Myrtle Grove Methodist Church; preceded in death by his brother, William (Bill( and four sisters, Dorothy Lancaster, Bettie Frazier, Lila Shelledy and Georgina Lloyd
