Age 91; resident of Wilmette IL; born Werner Rindsberg in a German village, arrested at age 14 with his father in 1938; sent to Belgium in 1939 with other children, and when Nazis invaded Belgium in 1941, fled to southern France; only member of his family to survive the Holocaust, two younger brothers were sent to Poland and killed; mother had relatives in New York, made it to U.S. in 1941 at age 17, drafted into U.S. Army in 1943, served in an intelligence unit in France; fearing further anti-Semitism, changed his name to one more American; studied journalism at U. of Missouri, moved to Chicago in 1958; director of public relations for National Automatic Merchandising Association for 30 years; retired and opened a consulting business - Date of Publication
