Age 81; born in Duluth, MN to Kristian and Olga Woie, Norwegian immigrants; during WWII, served in U.S. Navy as torpedo bomber pilot on USS San Jacinto (VT 51 Squadron) in South Pacific arena; degree in electrical engineering from U. of Minnesota; in 1960 bought and successfully operated Standard Oil station at corner of Harms and Glenview Roads; member of local Optimist Club, Glenview Chamber of Commerce and Glenview Community Church; lifetime member of U. of Minnesota Alumni Association and Navy League; after being dianosed with Alzheimer's, moved to Mankoto, MN - Date of Publication
