She was author the "ABC's of Rock Gardening"; a member of the American Horticultural society, the Wild Flower Preservation society, the League of Women Voters, the Florida Audubon society, the American Malacological union, the Alpine Garden Society of Great Britain, the Illinois Garden club and the Glencoe Garden Club
Spouse: Carl S. Miner, one of the nation's leading scientists and winner of the 1949 Perkins medal for outstanding achievement in applied chemistry
