Residence: 1831 Grove St., a resident of the village for 33 years.
Born: Greenfield, Ia.
Died: Sept 5, 1971, at Lutheran General Hospital.
Education: a graduate of University of Iowa, and had received his master's degree in landscape architecture from Harvard in 1927. He was a senior landscape architect in the National Park Service, chief engineer of parks and airport in Omaha, Neb., and planning director of Illinois Housing Board before entering private practice.
Member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and past president and trustee of this organization. He also designed the Sun Times Terrace at the Sun Times Building, and retired from his profession in 1966.
Employment: a landscape architect and community planner, with offices in Chicago and Glenview.
Survived by: wife, Naomi; sons, Thomas of Glenview and Arthur of Prospect Heights; daughters, Miss Mary Joan Fitzgerald of Glenview, Mrs. Nancy DeBacker of Glenview and Mrs. Suzanne Knapp of Fox River Grove. Grandfather of eight.
Funeral: Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
