- Member of the community of Loyola Academy in Wilmette.
Died: last Sunday at 7:30 a.m. at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago.
Employment: Father Coogan began teaching mathematics at the academy in 1959 and remained on the faculty until his retirement in 1970. He taught chemistry at Xavier University in Cincinnati, O. for two years and mathematics for 18 years at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, O.
He entered the Society of Jesus at Florissant, Mo., in 1926 and was ordained a Jesuit priest at West Baden College in West Baden, Ind.
Survived by: three sisters: Sister Mary Jane. B.V.M., Wright Hall, Chicago; Sister Mary Celeste, O.F.M., Rochester, Minn., and Sister Mary Philippa, B.V.M., who teaches at Niles College, Niles, Ill.
Funeral: formal visitation in the Loyola Academy Chapel at 1100 N. Laramie Ave., Wilmette, Tuesday Nov 27. Mass of the Resurrection in the chapel that evening. The Rev. Paul J. Clifford, S.J., Rector will be the principal celebrant and the Rev. Donald O'Shaughnessy, S.J. will give the Homily.
