Died: May 14 at Evanston Hospital.
Employment: at time of his death, Chairman of the Board of Corey Steel Co. as well as Chairman of the Board of the SAFER Foundation, an organization which helps secure jobs for persons who are on parole or who have been recently released from prison. Also a past president of North Shore Country Club in Glenview, a director of the Bristol Brass Corp. in Connecticut, and past president of the Copper and Brass Assn.
Education: a 1931 Austin Scholar at Northwestern University where he played football.
Father of: George D. Potter Jr. of Glenview.
Survived by: besides his son, his wife, Martha; one daughter, Carol Casson of Dallas, Tex.; one brother, Gene O. Potter of Sydney, Australia; and five grandchildren.
Funeral: Memorial services held May 17 at the Kenilworth Union Church, the Rev. Melvin Pearce officiating. Arrangements handled by the William H. Scott Funeral Home.
