- Description
- In 2022, to celebrate 125 years of the WI movement, WISH was created. Clues were revealed throughout the year and WI Branches from across the Province of Ontario formed teams & joined in on this fun scavenger hunt sharing their photos and stories as they completed each of the 6 clues.
The teams of 4 had to have at least one WI member and one non-WI member. The clue was sent at the first Wednesday of every second month and needed to be completed by the end of that month.
A summary of the clues:
Feb - Find one of the WI plaques, halls or projects near you.
Apr - Find a bucket of LEGOS , then build something that your Team feels represents “WI”. Go wherever your imagination takes you.
June - Each member paints a rock, using the group theme, and then each rock is hidden for someone special
Aug. - Members pay it forward by buying a beverage for a stranger and share with them about the WI
Oct. - Find a glorious pumpkin and create a pumpkin face
Nov. - Identify a specific author from a clue and write a poem in that writer's style. Poem must contain first name of all team members and at least 3 made up words
There were a number of prizes during the year by pulling a team number from a hat, plus a grand prize at the end for the team with the most points.
- Notes
- The winner of the WISH was Addie's Angels from the Women Inspiring Women Branch in Paris Ontario. The winning team could choose an Air B&B or Spa for a 2 night stay (up to $1500 accommodation & tax).
Thank you to Dowler-Karn and Friends of the Lee for the donation of the Grand Prize funds.
