—Notice—The country tresurer's office will be closed July 20th, until the 17th of August, 1891. Thomas Keyes, Treasurer of the County of Lincoln.

—Geo. F. Little, express engineer on the Kentucky C. R. R., was visiting his father, Benj. Little, a few days last week.

—A grand garden party and social will be held at the residence of Jas. Game, Grassie's Corners, on Thursday, Ang. 20, '91. Admission and supper 15 cents, other refreshments extra.

—Jas. Dunlop, of St. Catharines, will be in Grimsby on Tuesday and Friday with a full load of cabbage, beets, early vegetables, cabbage, celery a.nd caulifower plants. On Friday he will go to Hamilton.

—Services at the Baptist church, Grimsby, begins at ha]f past ten o'clock each Sunday morning, instead of eleven

*s formerly. This allows of Sunday school at or a few minutes before twelve o'clock. The evening service begins at 7 p. m , as usual.

—Mrs. Fred Teeter and son, Mrs. Konkle, Mrs. Dixon and Mrs. Fehl, of Pittsburg are visiting friends in Grimsby

—Percy Teeter is spending his vacation in Simcoe, at E. Udell's.

—Miss Fannie Byrne, Mr. and Mrs. Hay of Toronto, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Udell, of Grimsby.

--B. Bell and wife of St. George are visiting at R. M. Griffith's.

^—Miss Belle Reed of Montreal, and Miss Effie Williams, of Hamiiton, are visiting relatives and friends in Grimsby

^ Notice — Thursday, Aug. 13, Prohibition Day

at Grimsby Park, will be a temperance day throughout. The W.C.T. (Women's Christian Temperance) Unions of Lincoln and Welland Counties will hold a public meeting at 10:30 when addresses will be given by Mrs. Cavers, Provincial President, Miss Phelps and others. Miss Asher, Mrs. Harrison, Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Anderson will provide a good ???? programme. Hon. M.V. B....

-- J.W. Bengough, of " Grip," Toronto, will give a chalk talk at Grimsby Park on Friday evening. There will be three busses waiting at the Park House to take the Grimsby people home

—Wm. Brown, of Abingdon, spent a few days this week visiting friends in this place.

^^Next Sunday Dr. Macintyre, the popular Chicago preacher, wilt be at the Park. He will preach at 2:30 p. m. He will also lecture on Monda*. at 2:30 m. on "Buttoned up people and on Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. on "Fun on the farm." To and from all those services the bus will run every 20 minutes.

-- Sam Jones will be at the Park from Aug. 20 to Aug. 24. He will preach on Aug. 20th and 21st at 2:30 p. m. and on Aug. 23rd at 11 a. m. and 2:30 and 7:30 p. m.

-- Auction Sale—There will be sold by public auction at Grimsby Park, on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 2:30 o'clock p.m., the following valuable properties : Cottage No. 1, with lots 5 & 22; cottage No. 2, with lots 7 & 25 ; cottage No. 3, with lots 8 & 20. Also, in seperate parcels, 75 choice lots, also 74 shares of stock in the Park Co'y. The cottages contain a considerable quantity of valuable furniture, which will be sold with the cottages, and will be open for inspection previous to the sale upon application to Mr. Homan, caretaker. The three cottages above referred to lie east of the hotel and are in all respects commodious and well built. The remaining lots are vacant; 162, 163 and 164 lie on the front immediately west of the hotel and the remaining lots are front lots lying farther west on the open bluff. These lots are the most desirable that remain unsold and no other opportunity will occur again for obtaining lots having the view that these lots possess. W. H. House, auctioneer.

-- The steamer Carmonia will run an excursion from Grimsby Park and Grimsby to Burlington Beach on the Civic holiday, Thursday, Aug. 20, '91. The boat will leave the Park at 11:30 a. m. and Grimsby wharf at 12 o'clock noon. Return tickets 50 cents. The boat will leave the Beach at 4 p. m.

Ontario School of E. and O. (Elocation and Oratory)

One of the best if not the very best entertainment that has been given on Grimsby Park this year was that given by the Ontario School of Elocution and Oratory last Saturday night. The temple was packed and everyone was delighted. The following program was carried out:
