Dear Sirs— I know it will give you great pleasure to hear that I rode your tires on my "dead broke" trip just finished, and that they gave me perfect satisfaction and stood the severest test over moun- tain roads and 200 miles of railroad ties, without delaying me in the least. Going through as I did without a cent, it was gratifying to have my tires stand me all right. I shall have something to say about them in my story. Yours truly,

Gentlemen — In testing your pneumatic tire with water pres- sure the 6th instant, we used a gauge registering 180 pounds. The pointer passed this mark several times and went toward the O again, which indicates a pressure of 200 pounds, as near as we can estimate. The tire stood this pressure without bursting or showing any signs of weakness. Very truly yours,

It is rather a risky thing to attempt a ride of a thousand miles without a cent in your pocket, but Mr. Wylie, in selecting his tires for his mount, did so, knowing they would take him through without needing any repairs. The fact that he rode them over the mountains of Pennsylvania (described in "A Gentleman Tramp" as the roughest he has ever traversed), over 200 miles of bad railroad ties in Indiana, to say nothing of the " plank road " across the Jersey meadows and several wooden bridges with protruding nails, should convince every rider who wishes a safe and reliable tire for ,893 that the Tillinghast will undoubtedly prove the best. s ,
