'Liskeard, form-}| " OBITUARY . Mrs. Alice Dickson Mrs. Alice Dickson, widow of the late Samuel Dickson, and for many years a resident of Hailey- bury, passed away in Toronto on Thursday last, August 30th, after an illness that had extended over more than two years. For a con- siderable time previous to her death she had been in one of the city hospitals. She went to To- ronto from here following the death of her husband in 1924, and made her home with her daugh- ter, Mrs. H. J. Shields, until her illness made it necessary for her to go to the hospital. The late Mrs. Dickson was born in Clayton, Ont., sixty-six years ago. She came to Haileybury with her husband in 1906 from Bracebridge and lived here until 1924. Only her daughter, Mrs. Shields, survives of the immedi- ate family, a son having been killed overseas during the great war. Two sisters and two 'bro- thers also survive: Mrs. M: Lilly, of Montreal, and Mrs. M. Munro, Clayton, and Mr. J. Shane, To- ronto, and Mr. O, Shane, Madoc, Ont. The funeral of the late Mrs. Dickson "was held in Haileybury on Saturday afternoon last. Ser- vice was conducted in the United Church by Rev. ®. A. MacKer- acher and the remains were laid to rest in Mount Pleasant Ceme- tery, where the late Mr. Dickson was buried in 1924. A great many old friends of the deceased and of the family gathered to pay their last respects and there were many beautiful floral tributes, which testified to the esteem in which the late Mrs. Dickson.was held by her friends and acquaint- ances here. Her' daughter, Mrs. Shields, accdtiipanied the remains 'from the city and returned home this week. 4 Mrs. H. R. Heggart Mrs. H. R. Heggart, of Latch- ford, died in the Mines Hospital, Cobalt, on Saturday last, follow- ing an operation. She was thir- ty-four years of age and leaves her husband and a family of small children.
