His in- jured ankle was probably the of a place in the first division. He was with the Windsor Hor- nets for one year in 1927 and last winter was loaned to Niagara Falls. Failing the three towns enter- ing, it has been suggested that they pool their players and put in one good team to battle it out with Kirkland Lake and other Northern towns, who are not ex- pected to be as strong as they were last year. off with London Battery team in Toronto two years ago, and with "Tory" Gregg, went to Windsor and signed with the Hornets un- der Percy Leseur. Gigantic International Sports Club Organized The leading sportsmen of eleven nations have taken their cue from a recent utterance of the Prince of Wales that "the best friendship, whether individual or international, is that made on the field of sport," and have decided.to found a great international sportsmen's club in Park Lane, London. Among the prime movers in this movement are the Duke of Penaranda, famous Spanish polo player (left) and the Marquis of Londonderry (right). The new club will be opened early in the summer, when it will be splendidly equipped with an ice skating rink, squash courts, a gymnasium and about two hundred apartments. sal i Title Bout Opened New Coliseum / Tommy Walker (right), light-heavyweight champion of the world and Mickey Walker (left), middleweight champ, mixed things at Chicago on Thursday night last, ey opened the new indoor coli- 'fa seum for the Windy City's boxing ns. The issue is dated January 9th, 1919, and is one that we did not have previously. It contains some interesting news of the do- ings in Haileybury at that time, including an account of the muni- cipal elections, announcements of the return home of some of the boys from overseas, personal items about people who have since passed on and other matter bearing on the history of the town. The reader who sent this copy does not wish his name mention- ed, but he is thanked heartily just the same. With the copy of The Hailey- burian he brought in a copy of The Northern Miner, published in 1917. Considerable space in the latter is devoted to war-news, as it affected the mines at that time. When the players met last month here, the result was somewhat disas- trous for the local men and they their own back.
