THE HAILEYBURIAN Mr. and Mrs. W. McCord visit- ed friends in Englehart over last week-end. Provincial Constable H. Allsopp is in Southern Ontario this week on a holiday. Archie McEwen, formerly of Haileybury, visited friends here over the week-end. Mrs. Allan Jack, formerly of Haileybury, visited friends and relatives here over the week-end. Mrs. Waenita Bleecker, of To- ronto, is a guest of Judge and Mrs. G. H. Hayward, Lake Shore Road. Mrs. Wm. Billedo was called to her former home in Dacre last week on account of the illness of her father. Miss Marguerite McGinley has returned home after a visit with her sister, Mrs. William Maher, at Kapuskasing. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Elkins and family spent last week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Seed at their Wabi farm. Mrs. J. A. MacDougall. of Kirkland Lake, formerly of Hail- eybury, was a visitor in town over the holiday. Allan Murray was home to spend Thanksgiving with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Mur- ray, Blackwall Street. Miss Maureen home from Meagher Loretta Abbey was to spend Thanksgiving with her father, Mr. T. J. Meagher. Misses Sybil McCracken and Annie Hughes, students at the North Bay Normal School, visit- ed their homes here for Thanks- giving. Miss Shillington, of Timmins, a former member of the local public school staff, was down to spend the holiday with friends here. Misses Pauline Bagshaw and Josephine Houston came up from the city last week to spend Thanksgiving at their homes in Haileybury. Mr. W. H. Thompson, Marcella Street, who recently underwent a serious operation in a Toronto hospital, is reported this week as progressing favorably towards recovery. It is expected that he will be able to return home with- in the next few weeks. Little Child Dead at Age of Two Months Mr. and Mrs. P. Perrier, Rorke Avenue, have the sympathy of their many friends here in the death of their little daughter, Carmen, which took place on Saturday.
