First Picture of Eielson Search Party This is the first photograph of the actual searching activities at Point Barrow, Alaska, for the missing pilot, Carl Earl Eielson, and his mechanic, Earl Borland, whose wrecked plane was recently found on the northern coast of Siberia. Pilot Nieminen andhis mechanic, Alonzo Cope, are shown standing beside their plane prior to a start in search of the remains of the ill-fated fliers.
