Dr. and Mrs. Somerville return- ed on Friday last after a few days visit with friends in Toronto, Georgetown and Buffalo. A softball practice will be held at the High School this evening at 6 o'clock. Everybody out who wants to catch a place. Mr. W. J. Hamilton writes from Toronto to say that he has moved to that city, and not Pet- erboro, as stated in a recent issue of the Haileyburian. The Haileybury Board of Trade will hold a meeting in Hotel Hail-|| eybury on Tuesday evening next, May 19th, at 8 o'clock. All mem-}) bers are requested to attend. A prospecting party, which in- cluded Dan. Willins and T. Mid- dleton, left on Tuesday morning in the plane "Prospector" for northern Quebec, with Pilot G. R. Burge. J. D. and Earl Sutherland, rec- ently of the Castle Trethewey mine at Bestel, have gone to Porcupine, where they have sec- ured jobs at the McIntyre and Dome mines. Mr. David Hill, who has been ill for the past six weeks with pneumonia, is progressing to- wards recovery and was able to leave the hospital and return to his home on Monday. The Northern Light Rebekah Lodge are holding a Tea and Produce Table on Friday, May 22nd, at the home of Mrs. N. J. Joynt, of the Bell Telephone Company, and Leonard G. Joynt, secretary treasurer of McAuliffe-Grimes Lumber Co., Ltd., Ottawa; three brothers, A. S. Hopper, Toronto, J. A. Hopper of Mather, Man.; George H. Hopper, Ottawa; three sisters, Mrs. S. D. Briden, Haileybury; the Misses Matilda and Mary Hopper, of City View. Three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held at three o'clock Wednesday after- noon from her late residence to All Saints' Church.
