The suit was entered in May last and ip connection with the town's defence, both the town solicitor and the town clerk were required to go to the city. The amount claimed by the firm of architects was $1,000 and was held by them to be due as a bal- ance for the preparation of plans and specifications for the arena building in 1926. The town dis- puted the claim on the ground John, was killed overseas in the great war, and a daughter, Agnes died seven years ago in Troy, N. Y: Florida Noel The home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Noel, Albert Street, was sadly bereaved on Thursday last, when their daughter, Florida, aged 15, passed away after an illness of only six days. She had been tak- en sick the week previous and at first it was believed she would re- cover, but this was not to be and the bereaved parents and other members of the family have the sincere sympathy of all their friends. Six g@sters and one brother, besides Mr. and Mrs. Noel, survive. Second Member of Family Meets a Violent Death The second fatality in the same family in less than 10 weeks oc- curred at the Teck Hughes mine, Kirkland Lake, about 10.30 Tues- day night, when, Sinklor Morrow, 26 years old,and unmarried, was killed in a fall of rock at a chute while working underground at the property. Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Mor- row, well-known settlers of Hud-| son township, near New Liskeard and the body was sent there yes- terday. A brother of the victim, Eldred Morrow, died in Cobalt hospital on May 22 last from burns sustained in an accident at the Matabichouan plant of the Canada Northern Power Co., where he had been employed. An inquest has been ordered into the fatality here. Morrow had been with the mining company for a year past. Hon. Wm. Finlayson, Minister of Lands and Forests, told a gath ering of the Kiwanis Club at Kirkland Lake last week that the route of the Trans-Canada High- way would be announced within a month. NOTICE!
