Haileybury will lead off tomorrow with nom- inations called for the middle of the day, as usual, while Coleman will hold its annual meeting of this nature at noon on Monday. Cobalt's nomination, as per cus- tom of many years standing, will take place on Monday night. Election day for all three, if nec- essary, is set for December 5th. Members of present councils are either non-committal or frankly on retcord they will not run, and the outcome of the nominations is shrouded in rather more un- 4.30 blaze did considerable damage to the premises on Lang street used as a garage and living quarters, and also to three cars in for the night. Chief Stinson picked up Mrs. Reid and took her to the safety of Mrs, Landry's home nearby, and Fireman William Fraboni did likewise for her husband, both be- ing in their night attire. They were not seriously affected. Cobalt Board of Trade at a |sparsely attended meeting on | Tuesday night, went on record as j}urging the government to con- | centrate any road work that might be planned for the coming winter on Trans-Canada High- | way, rather than on other roads. The motion was the-development of a discussion which took place on a resolution submitted by the Ottawa Board of Trade, which had urged that several roads might be built in the' Muskoka district, east from the Toronto- It was claimed these roads would be valuable in securing tourist playing exhibition contests again- st the three junior teams. A pro- posal to this effect, originating in Haileybury, will be broached to New Liskeard, as . Cobalt is definitely out for the season in this series. The suggestion is that the various senior players avail- able be brought together, play- ing against each junior team twice, and swapping defences for! ern Group victors, senior and the various contests. In the jun- ior ranks, New Liskeard, Hailey- bury and Cobalt are likely to play a double or triple schedule among themselves, with Noranda and Kirkland Lake keeping out in a separate arrangement for this winter.
