In the wagon race they made the record time of 50 and four-fifths seconds, carrying off the banner for the third year in succession. New Liskeard was second in this event, making the run in 52 3-5. Noranda Mines ran third and Haileybury fourth. The time of the local brigade was 55 2-5 seconds. In the ladder race the time of the winners was 15 2-5 seconds. Plan Air Mail Service Haileybury to Mud Lake 'An Ottawa despatch to the daily press late last week said that it~ had. been an- nounced by the Post Office Department that an air mail service between Haileybury and Mud Lake, Quebec, will be inaugurated about July 20. The service would be twice weekly, the report said, in each direction.
