The Ladies' Aid of the United Church will hold a rummage sale on October 2nd in the basement of the church. The annual bazaar will be held this year on Novem- ber 28th. J. W. Morrison, president of the Albany River Mines Limited and in charge of development at the property in the Pickle Crow area, is in Haileybury this week for a visit at his home on Main Street. ; Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Thorpe re- turned to town on Monday after a couple of weeks visit to South- ern Ontario. They were accom- panied by their daughter, Miss Ella, and Miss Irene Richards, who had been visiting friends and relatives. Mrs. J. T. Leishman and little son, Jack, returned on Friday last after a visit in Sault Ste. Marie. They were accompanied by Mrs. Leishman's mother, Mrs. J. Bay- liss, who will spend a few months in Haileybury. Mr. and Mrs. A. Ei Winfield and daughter, Miss Grace, of Port Colborne, and Mr. and Mrs. T. Axler, North Bay, motored to town for a week-end visit with Mr. and Mrs. Winfield's daughter Mrs. Russell Poppleton. Mrs. Russell Poppleton held a supper bridge on Wednesday ev- ening last at her home on Latch- ford Street, when relatives of Mr. Poppleton were the guests. She was assisted by Miss Amy Pop- pletor and a very pleasant even- ing was spent. K. M. Stephen returned home on Monday after a ten-day trip through Southern Ontario.
