Vice-president Thuerck presid- ed over the meeting in the ab- sence of the president, O. J. Thorpe, and it was decided to send the latter, now living in Beamsville, a copy of minutes in order that he might not lose touch entirely with the club. At the opening of the meeting, a resolution of sympathy with the widow and family of the late J. O. Belanger, one of the most respected members of the club was passed and those present stood a minute in silence in his memory and that of another well liked member, the late John L. Maltby. Walter Maltby, on behalf of his brothers and himself, presented to the club the new trophy for the singles event, which was gratefully accepted by J. H. Mc- Farlane, a past president and charter. membeer. The prize for the doubles went to D. G. Hogan and R. Poppleton who defeated Les. McFarlane and Jos. Thisdelle in the final of that contest, while the prizes for the rinks of four competition, given each year by Mr. McFarlane, had already been presented, as the winning skip, Les.
