MclIsaac; Will Con- tinue as Chauffeurs The MclIsaac Transportation Company, operating the bus line between the towns of Cobalt, Haileybury and New Liskeard, is extending its operations to in- clude a taxi service in Haileybury and on Fébruary Ist will take over the business of the Carrier Brothers, who have been handling local traffic since 1922. The taxi service will be operated in con- nection with the buses, according eto N. D. McIsaac, who announced the deal at the week-end. Arthur and Armand Carrier have been engaged by Mr. Mc- Isaac as chauffeurs of the taxis, and already three new cars have been ordered to take the place of those now in use. In extending his operations in this' way» Mr. MclIsaac_ states that his chief aim is to give the people of the three towns the best possible service. The bus liné has proved a first class suc- bstitute for the former Nipissing Central Railway and has been in continuous operation for nearly two years making hourly trips without interruption. The taxis will continue to take care of traffic between Hotel Hail- eybury and the railway station and will be available at all hours. Uniforms for the chauffeurs, the same as those worn by the bus drivers, have been ordered and the whole system is to be centred here. An agreement satisfactory to all parties was arrived at, Mr. Mclsaac states, and the new ar- rangement will go into effect on February Ist. W. G. Nixon, M.L.A., for Tem- iskaming South, has been ap- pointed a member of the newly created Ontario Seed Board, an- nounced by the Minister of Agri- culture, Hon. Duncan Marshall, late last week. represent Northern Ontario farm- ers for the present, the Minister stated, and later on one or two farmers from Northern Ontario will be added to the Board. "The Board will advise the department in connection with all} problems of seed growing and seed marketing, particularly the problem of securing markets for the smaller growers," the Minis- ter said. "It will endeavor to work out an efficient system for more complete distribution' of good, clean seed, true to' variety."
