The ceremony was performed by Rey. T. T. Faich- ney, in the First Baptist Church, Galt when the bride was given in marriage by her father. ABROAD IN TOWN AND WARNING IS ISSUED Chief of police K. R. Watson re- ports this week that a clothesline robber had been active in town during the past week, and several garments have disappeared from the lines at night. The losses, while not especially heavy, cause plenty of inconvenience, and a thief of this nature is not easy to catch, the chief says. He asked The Haileyburian to warn local residents of the presence of the petty thief or thieves and advises them to leave nothing out over night on their lines. It is several years since this kind of theft was reported in Haileybury. Kirkland Lake Engineer Awarded Coix de Guerre Vernan Castle Davis, Kirkland Lake, has been awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French govern- ment. He was one of 17 Canadi- ans honored by the French in recognition of action during the liberation of France. Mr- Davis, who served as cor poral of the Royal Canadian En- gineers, was in the service for 5 years. He was severely wound- ed the D-day invasion of France in 1944.
