Moore left on Monday J for Chataqua and Buffalo, N.Y., for a visit with his mother, Mrs. Hyman, Miss Ruthe Pipe was home from Ottawa to spend the holiday weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Taylor Pipe. The Baptist Mission Circle will meet at the church on Tuesday, July 11th, at 2.30 p.m. Mrs. A. Burnes will be guest speaker. Miss Pat Quinn was in town from Toronto for a week-end visit Miss Agnes Chesser and other friends her and in Cobalt. Russell Poppleton was in town from Toronto over the week-end for a visit with his mother, Mrs. EK. Poppleton, and other relatives. George Poppleton and_ sons, Clifford and Henry, were in town from South Porcupine to spend the holiday week-end with rela- tives here. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Roberts and son, Beaver of Red Rock, Ont., spent the week-end in town with Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Joy on their way to Ottawa and other Eastern points. Week-end visitors at the home of Mr, and Mis. Taylor Pipe were Mrs. John Hough and sons, Pau and John, Mr. Don McIntyre of Toronto, and Mr. Stan Roscoe of Hamilton. S. H. Glassford and Mrs. J. L. Maltby were in Toronto over the weekend for a visit with Mrs. Glassford, who is a patient at the General Hospital there. She is doing as well as could be expepct- ed, they said, on their return. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Burnett were in Toronto last week to at- tend the graduation of their son, Paul, from Osgoode Hall. They were accompanied by their daugh- ter Ann Mary. B. E. Proulx, became the bride of Leo Parent, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Parent of Cobalt. The church was beautifully decorated with June flowers and the double- ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Lafleur, Holy Cross Parish priest. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was un- attended. She wore a graceful wedding gown of white organdy, made in three-quarter length. Her veil was shoulder length and was caught with flowers, and she carried a bridal bouquet of roses. The ushers at the ceremony were Marcel and Claud Proulx, twin brothers of the bride. Following the ceremony a re- ception was held at the home of the bride's parents for about 100 guests. Mrs. Proulx, the bride's mother, received in a gown of grey print, with black and white § accessories, and Mrs. Parent, the bridegroom's mother, wore navy blue gown with blue accessories. Later the bridal couple left ona honeymoon trip by motor, the bride wearing a turquoise summer suit with fawn topcoat and navy blue accessories.
