Murray of Sebring, Ohio, were in town last week visiting with Mr. Mur- Murray. Mr. S. H. Glassford of Hunts- ville was in town last week visit- iting with his son, Harold, and Mrs. Glassford. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bramer of Sudbury are visiting with-Mrs. Bramer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A, Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Rushworth of Kirkland Lake were week-end guests of Mr. S. Robson and fa- mily recently. Mrs. Albert Palmer was in Val d'Or last week to attend the wedding of her son, Elburn, to Miss Therese Deslaurier, which took place on Thursday, Novem- ber 13th. Dr. J. Genyk left this week for Toronto to attend the funeral of his brother, Dr. Julian Genyk. The late Doctor was at one time Pro- fessor of Philosophy at the Uni- versity of Krakow in Poland and at the time of his death, was Professor of Languages a t the University of Toronto. Haileybury Scouts Hold Dance in High School By David Tuer On Friday evening the Hailey- bury Boy Scouts held their first dance in the High School, It started off with each Scout intro- ducing himself and then his guest. A great'many interesting games were played First was the Orange game the winners re- ceived candy suckers. The next game plaved was the spot dance. Inthis game the winners of the special prizes were Barbafa and Charles Camsell. After the spot dance. the Scouts chose partners and did some square dancing. For ~~the ext dance the Scouts and their guests were given pieces of paper pictures which had to be matched up for partners. Another interesting game the walking game. Special prizes again were given to the winners, who were Carol Jenkins and David Tuer. After the walking game was the shoe mix-up con- test from which the Raven patrol won. This was probably the most exciting game of the evening The most skilful.game of the evening was the letter game which the Wolf patrol won. The two games which remained were charades and the final dance in which the music would stop suddenly and any couple witha certain garment or color were disaualified. Carol McNaught and Reg. McIntyre wan the spe- cial prizes. Much thanks is oiven to Mr. and Mrs. Nauss, Mrs. Neelands, Mrs. Bond and Buz Hayward, whe made this dance possible.
